Almost every successful people face thousands of problems in their life before getting success. Jack Ma is one of them. It is indescribable how much pain and troubles he had faced in his early life. He applied for Harvard University ten times and rejected in each attempt. Once KFC asked for 24 employees in his town. Early life & Education
Jack Ma was born on September-10, 1964 AD in Hangzhou Town, Zhejiang Province, China. From childhood, he was a hardworking student. His family was very poor. He used to like English subject so much that he started working in a tourist hotel. Many tourists used to come to that hotel. After some time, he started working as a tourist guide. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with tourists in order to strengthen his English. He worked for 9 years in that sector as a tourist guide. He would travel 27 KM by his cycle daily just to visit different tourist sites in order to meet and talk with tourists. Meanwhile, he made a very close foreign friend. His real name is Ma Yaun, which is a little bit hard to pronounce, that's why his foreign friend named him Jack Ma. Even today he is renowned by Jack Ma than Ma Yaun.
After high school, he decided to join Bachelor with English as a major. In China, the entrance exam is held only once a year. It took him four years to pass an entrance exam. Then he joined Hangzhou Teacher's Institute. He completed his bachelor in 1980 AD in arts stream with English as a major specialization. After graduation, he started teaching English at Hangzhou Dianzi University. He applied at Harvard 10 times and got rejected in each attempt. Jack Ma had applied in 30 different jobs and wasn't selected in all of them. He went for becoming a police officer, but he got rejected just because he wasn't good looking and handsome. That unlucky person who wasn't selected by KFC was Jack Ma.
Business Life
The more he failed, the more he would get excited and would start looking for different jobs. Meanwhile, in1994 AD, he heard about the internet for the first time. The Internet was slowly growing at that time. Then he started his first translating company, Hangzhou Haibo Translation Agency with the help of the internet.
In 1995 AD, he went to the USA with his friends and those friends taught him about the computer and the internet. While searching on the internet about the beer, he found information about every beer brand other than Chinese beer. He then searched for general information about China and didn't find anything about China. After that, he and his friends made a website that contained all the information about China. He had launched that website at 9:40 AM in the morning, within 3 hours, he started receiving emails from some Chinese investors. Then he realized that only the internet could give him something. He and his friend He Yibing, who was a computer teacher opened an office for that website. Within 3 years of operation, that website made nearly $800,000 USD or 5,000,000 Yuan.
After the success of that website, he and his friends started creating websites for many Chinese companies. At that time the internet connection was very slow. It would take 3 and 1\2 hours to load a half-page. He himself never wrote a single line of code. He brought his first computer when he was 33 years old. He resigned from china International Electronic Commerce Center after working from 1998 AD to 1999 AD. In the same year, he returned to his home town with 18 friends and he started Alibaba Company. In the beginning, nearly 500,000 Yuan was invested in that company. The company was growing rapidly. Then he acquired $25 million USD foreign investment in 1999 AD and 2000 AD.
He established the Alibaba Company in order to promote the small and medium-size business of china. In 2003 AD, he opened other Alibaba subsidiary companies like Taobao Market Place, Ali Pay, Ali Mama, Lynx, etc. In 2012 AD, for the first time, Alibaba Company crossed 1 Trillion Yuan transactions. As of 2020 AD, the total value of Alibaba and its subsidiary companies is nearly $553 Billion USD. The net worth of Jack Ma is $42.3 Billion USD in 2020 AD and he is the 17th richest person in the world.
Philanthropic Works
Jack ma was retired from the post of CEO of Alibaba in 2018 AD. He has established the Jack Ma Foundation in order to promote Education, Health, and Environmental protection. The foundation is helping people in African and Middle East countries. Alibaba Foundation built 1,000 houses in Nepal after the earthquake in Nepal in 2015 AD and collected charity for other 9000 houses. In 2019 AD, Forbes enlisted him in "Asia's 2019 heroes of Philanthropy" list.
To combat with 2020 AD Coronavirus, Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donated health kits and instruments.

Jack Ma was from a poor family. He was talented and dedicated. He failed many times throughout his life, but today he is a very successful businessman and philanthropist ( social contributor). He started his company just by using a computer and the internet. Today, we have easy access to the internet, but the problem is that we spend most of our productive time surfing through Facebook and Youtube. We feel accomplished just by sharing useless memes on Facebook. We become admins of the Facebook groups and enjoy wasting our time, but if we use this internet precisely, we could become a billionaire (like Mark Zuckerberg). It is in your hand either you learn and earn from the internet or waste your time on Facebook and Tiktok. From his life, we can take many lessons like hard work, dedication, and persistence.
